Soldier among three injured in blast near Chinese mission

Three people including a Rangers soldier were injured on Monday when a home-made device exploded near Chinese Consulate in the Clifton area of Karachi. Police said a bomb was planted on a motorcycle parked near Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
The institute is situated next to the Chinese Consulate.

An official of the Bomb Disposal Squad told journalists that a time device was used to detonate the bomb. The bomb was attached to a motorbike that was completely destroyed.
Inspector General (IG) Sindh Fayyaz Leghari told newsmen that reports in the media that the consulate was the target were wrong. “A low intensity bomb was planted on a motorcycle in the parking lot of the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.”
He said two people, including a Rangers official, were injured in the incident.
One car and three motorcycles parked nearby were destroyed in the blast.
